The Internet Archive Scans 1M Books for Blind, Dyslexic Readers and Print Disabled People

religious instituteThe Internet Archive, a non-profit dedicated to offering universal access to knowledge via an online library, recently launched a program that more than doubled the number of books available to print disabled people of all ages. With more than 1 million books translated into DAISY format, the Internet Archive also launched a book donation drive to help increase their virtual bookshelves.

As part of the launch, the DG team developed a media strategy and implemented campaign to promote the new service and raise awareness about the Internet Archive’s book drive. We were responsible for getting this story covered in several hundred media and online outlets including the Washington Post, the Chronicle of Philanthropy, and Education Week.
