Advertising: Paid and Public Service
Issues
Effective ads in the right places often result in
nationwide exposure for clients, boosting awareness of their critical
work. Douglas Gould and Co. creates and places focused issue
advertising (both paid and unpaid) as part of media advocacy strategies.
We recently created and placed public service
ads for the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund (LDF) to
raise awareness about the unfulfilled promise of the landmark
Brown v. Board of Education decision during the commemoration
of its 50th anniversary in 2004. Ads have appeared in such publications
as Time, Entertainment Weekly, Essence
and Black Enterprise, and have generated nearly $1 million
in free advertising to date (see the poject
page for details).
