Online Engagement

Web sites, e-mail, social networking, twitter... Douglas Gould and Company creates tools and content that support fundraising, sustain advocacy campaigns and advance causes for progressive organizations and foundations.

Keep Arts in SchoolsKeep Arts in Schools
To expand the reach of www.keepartsinschools.org, we turned to social media to arm advocateswith the tools and resources they need to be more effective in their work and in their communications to keep arts education in public schools.  Douglas Gould and Company uses Facebook, MySpace and YouTube to reach over 4,000 arts education advocates.  Each network mirrors the work of keepartsinschools.org and allows advocates to network with one another and express their opinions.  Additionally, we have launched a blog on keepartsinschools.org that examines many aspects of arts education.

Community College Centralcommunitycollegecentral
Community colleges open doors. In some cases, those doors lead to second careers. While adult students gain the skills they need, local communities gain well-trained employees who contribute to a skilled workforce and strong local economy. To support the Ford Foundation's Bridges to Opportunity initiative, we created a six-part video series called Profiles of Opportunity that is hosted on YouTube.  Each video was promoted through direct email campaigns and focus on inspirational stories of individuals who have found success through community colleges.  To date, the six videos have collectively been viewed over 4,000 times.

Americans for UNFPA - Lifelines Lifelines
Douglas Gould and Company created a unique online community, Lifelines, where women can share their life experiences and learn from the experience of others. The community gives users the ability to build their own story as a Lifeline, then compare their lives to other women's all over the world.

Ann Coulter Does Not Speak for Me
As part of our work with the Center for the Advancement of Women, we developed and launched a viral campaign, "Ann Coulter Does Not Speak for Me", a spin-the-wheel type Flash animation game that let users see quotes from Ann Coulter on various issues related to women.  The campaign attracted online activists to the site, and then encouraged them to sign a petition.  In addition to engaging CFAW's existing e-mail list, Douglas Gould and Company helped secure ad placements on blogs as well as links from peer organizations that drove an active audience to the campaign and the petition.
