Before non-profit organizations invest resources
in disseminating a particular message, they need to know that
the message will resonate with the public and produce the desired
outcomes. That’s why Douglas Gould and Co. tests messages
through opinion research, in the form of both polling and focus
groups.
We partner with outside opinion research firms
that specialize in working with nonprofit organizations and foundations,
directing the research plan to ensure that it gets at the issues
most relevant to our clients’ work. For example, we held
focus groups recently with current and potential donors of Population
Connection (formerly ZPG) to help guide the organization through
a name-change process (see the project
