Webinars

Online tools such as Webinars, listservs, social networks, and message boards, all contribute to effective engagement around issues nonprofits face, and address, in their work. Webinars, in particular, can be a powerful learning tool to increase awareness, provide timely information on a specific topic and help build internal capacity for nonprofit staff. Webinars provide an interactive format that is easily archived so you can engage your audience, provide them with a valuable experience and allow access to the content beyond the date of your scheduled event.

Douglas Gould and Company has deep experience with creating and implementing Webinars and with guiding our clients through the process for successful outcomes.

Recent projects include:

The Ford Foundation's Community Colleges Bridges to Opportunity Initiative worked to enhance community colleges' efforts to expand educational and economic opportunities for disadvantaged students.

As the communications partner in this initiative, Douglas Gould and Company led a national opinion research and message development project, prepared strategic recommendations and trained key spokespeople. A six-part Webinar series promoted advocate toolkits on topics including developmental education, data and performance measurement, career pathways and communications advocacy. The Webinar series was wildly popular with higher education advocates, achieving a height in attendance of 440, and driving traffic to the initiative's Web site, www.communitycollegecentral.org.

The Ford Foundation's Integrating Arts and Education Reform Initiative was founded on the belief that all children deserve a well-rounded quality education and that learning in and through the arts should be a vital component of education for every student -- no matter where they live.

The Webinar series featured case studies from arts learning experts and original research compiled by Douglas Gould and Company on topics including igniting community action, building partnerships with school districts, empowering parents and navigating the blogosphere. An average of 200 people registered for these events bringing together a diverse group of advocates from arts institutions and organizations, public schools and colleges, foundations, art advocate bloggers and government agencies.

The Forum of Regional Associations of Grantmakers (the Forum) is a national philanthropic leader and a network of 33 regional associations of grantmakers.

The Forum supports philanthropy by strengthening the ability of all regional associations to fulfill their missions. Douglas Gould philanthropy webinarand Company worked with six regional associations to build internal capacity to support more effective communication through in-person trainings, weekly tip sheets, and an active listserv specific to addressing communications questions. The Webinar series focused on topics including media planning, media relations and communicating with policy makers. All resources developed were made available to all regional associations and their affiliates to extend the learning process and to build organizational wide communications capacity.
