Don Tipple, VP, Finance and Operations
Don is a senior financial manager with more than 20 years experience in agency finance. He recently provided strategic consulting services in the public relations industry focusing particular attention on budgeting, staff utilization, acquisitions and back office systems.
Don was chief financial officer for Euro RSCG Magnet, a top-25 public relations agency headquartered in New York, with eight offices throughout the U.S. He was responsible for all finance and administration, including financial reporting, budgeting, legal, technology and office space. He negotiated and consummated six acquisitions during his tenure at Magnet and oversaw the move of three companies into 45,000 sq ft of space at Chelsea Market.
Prior to Magnet Don spent eight years at Burson-Marsteller. He was chief financial officer of the Canadian operations. In this role he was responsible for all finance and administration for five offices, including business plans, staffing, human resources, office space, equipment and financial reporting. He integrated a major acquisition in Ottawa and negotiated the sale of the operations to National Public Relations.
After the sale of the Canadian operations, Don was asked to head the business affairs operations of Burson-Marsteller's NIS (Newly Independent States) group headquartered in Moscow. He coordinated all activities to set up the new office housing more than 150 employees and managed the finance and administration for a large USAID contract dealing with privatization in Russia.
Prior to entering the public relations industry, Don was treasury manager for Rowntree Ltd, one of Canada's leading confectionery companies subsequently bought by Nestle.
