Megan M. Freed, Senior Associate:
Megan joined our team in early '07 to apply her creative vision for social change. Her public health expertise has been an asset to Douglas Gould and Company. During her tenure, Megan has been instrumental working with such clients as Americans for UNFPA, Population Action International, the Center of Excellence for Sexual Health, CT Voices for Children and the Arcus Foundation.
Her studies in anthropology led her to pursue a graduate degree in public health at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. AT UNC, Megan learned the ins and outs of health behavior, education and communications, all the while managing various clinical and behavioral research projects (and occasionally participating!). After many years of living on a shoestring budget, Megan fell comfortably into a nonprofit start-up, The Well Project. It was with TWP that Megan forayed into online communications, providing treatment education and support to HIV-positive women.
Megan thinks strategy, smiths messages, rearranges information architecture, writes copy, and wrestles with the media on a daily basis. She is highly adaptable. In fact, when there’s another 'Megan' working on a project, she quickly transforms to 'Maggie' – her long-lost alter ego. An avid Tarheel basketball fan, she divides her winter evenings between CNN, ESPN and ANTM!
Blue ink is highly preferable to her.
