Sharon
Lewis, Senior Associate:
Sharon Lewis joined Douglas Gould and Company in January of 2000 with a background in research and reporting. She has achieved prominent placements in media outlets throughout the country, such as The New York Times, The Washington Post, Newsweek and The Los Angeles Times.
An expert in raising the media profile of organizations and individuals, Sharon has played a key role in publicizing the work of the Ford Foundation’s Religion and Culture project grantees, including scholars Karen King and Theda Skocpol. She has also increased the public’s awareness of the Center for Medicare Advocacy and its executive director, Judith Stein. Sharon has developed strategic plans for many clients and translated the findings of academic research studies for popular audiences.
Sharon previously worked for Louis Harris & Associates and The Weekend Independent, an Australian newspaper, where she focused on health and women's issues. In her spare time, Sharon practices yoga and juggling (but not at the same time) and travels to Australia to commune with koalas, kangaroos and her in-laws.
